В статье рассматривается функциональные особенности «столицы» на примере провинциального российского города – Касимов, а также делается попытка объяснить влияние мифа о «столичности» на процесс конструирования отдельной национальности.

The article concerns functional elements of “capital” at the example of the Russian provincial town – Kasimov and seeks to explain the influence of the muth about “capitalness” on the construction of a nation.
