<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article discusses the process of implementing the efforts of the governments of ASEAN+3 member countries to develop a regional bond market. It is shown what initiatives and measures were put forward at different stages of promoting the Initiative for the Development of Asian Bond Markets in national currencies. The gradual and flexible approach allowed the participating countries to form flexible institutional foundations of the Initiative, allowing to take into account the different levels of financial development of the economies involved. The article shows the dual role of China in the development of the regional bond market in national currencies: as a center of attraction and as a competitor.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>АСЕАН+3</kwd><kwd>Китай</kwd><kwd>облигационный рынок</kwd><kwd>финансовая инфраструктура</kwd><kwd>финансовая интеграция</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>ASEAN+3</kwd><kwd>China</kwd><kwd>bond market</kwd><kwd>fi nancial infrastructure</kwd><kwd>fi nancial integration</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Amamiya, M.
